Video Interview: Artist Jorg Dubin

conducted by Jim Washburn

Jorg Dubin

Painter Jorg Dubin has been a fixture of the Laguna Beach art scene since the 1970s. He worked in several mediums before arriving at a style of portraiture that goes a long way towards answering the question, "What if Vermeer had been around to paint your dental hygienist naked?" Jorg's work has been featured in numerous gallery exhibitions, the Laguna Art Museum and a 2007 solo retrospective show at Saddleback College, all of which had critics exclaiming, "Golly, he's good." You can see more of his work at www.jorgdubin.com.

Jorg sat with FourStory writer Jim Washburn recently to discuss his art and the travails of living in an artists' community that artists can scarcely afford to live in anymore.
