For a nice change of pace, there's an awesome post on the design and inspiration blog Obvious: the artist Peter Gibson (aka Roadsworth) decided in 2001 that he didn't want people to drive as much on the streets of Montreal.  So what did he do?

But if having fun with our current changing transportation landscape is just too present for you, the Chilean photographer Adriana Cousiño has some work that might be right up your alley (and it's definitely up mine... you know how much I enjoy epic visions of futuristic urbanism):
