A Visit to MSBNC.com

This is about the saddest story I’ve ever heard:

Nick Adenhart, a rookie pitcher on the Angels, pitched his first start yesterday, tossing six shutout innings. His father flew in for the game. Adenhart (along with two others in his car) was killed by a drunk driver last night.

This is a story that ought to be surprising, but isn’t, given the stupidity of our species:

From the AP story: “A 77-year-old woman suffered a fatal stab wound while trying to break up a sword fight Thursday between her grandson and brother-in-law, police said.”

(I’ll just skip Web memorial for dead ‘House’ doctor is icky.)

This is a story that makes me feel better:

Some folks in Texas crafted a wetsuit with a rudder for a sea turtle named Allison who lost three of her flippers in a shark attack. Allison, who’d been restricted to tight circles, can now swim in a straight line for the rest of the 150 years she can expect to live. (Video here.)
