Giving CoHi Props

by Mike Plunkett

Last week, I was quite happy to see that Columbia Heights, my neighborhood in D.C., was named one of the winners of the Urban Land Institute’s Award of Excellence. The awards are based on the most redemptive use of land space and building community. You can read the official release here.

Columbia Heights was in a great group of projects in America, from Mexico to NYC to L.A. Live.

L.A. Live????

I’ll let Chavira go off on this one, but that was surprising. Granted, it’s been a few years since I’ve left the Left Coast, so maybe the complete product is worth screaming (pleasantly) about.

In any case, more thoughts from Truly Yours about Columbia Heights are forthcoming. You can read about my introduction to Snakes on a Plane, I mean, snakes on 14th Street here.
