I Get More Letters

by Donna Schoenkopf

Here’s another letter from Ann in Los Osos, who writes:

Scary. Scary. We have a similar road, Hwy 41 from Paso to Fresno. Called Blood Alley and it’s absolutely nuts. The deaths are all from Driving While Stupid. When I go to Fresno, I’ve been doing the speed limit (55 with triple fines, all posted big letters) and people will pass me on a double yellow line, on a hill, blind hill. Nuts. If only these people would just kill themselves, but they don’t, they’ll take out a safely driving car filled with a nice sane careful driving family. Eyeblink. Gone. They do the same thing on Los Osos Valley Road from SLOTown to LO, two lane, beautiful drive, but folks will pass on double lines, pass on the shoulder lane because they gotta get to the stop lite at the end of the road .00001 second faster than The Other Guy. Like I say, Nuts.

You’re smart to hide by the side of the road then make the turn quick like a bunny. But sounds like you’ve got a Blood Alley road all your own. Stay home as much as you can . . . . is my advice!!

She writes a great blog at calhounscannon.blogspot.com. Check it out!
