Obama Administration to Ease Cuba Travel Restrictions
by Jim Washburn
Today's New York Times reports that the Obama administration is formulating a plan to make travel to Cuba easier for academic, religious and cultural groups to travel to Cuba. It is only a small step toward easing the travel restrictions imposed on US citizens by its own government, and does nothing to lift the half-century old embargo on trade with the island nation. Even so, it's enough to possibly enrage conservatives and anti-Castro Cuban-American voters, which could carry a political cost. The administration is considering making the changes before the dreaded mid-term elections, which could carry a political cost.

well it should carry a cost. Castro is a murderer. No getting around that.

hmmmm….“political cost”...just reminds me of f*cking corporate america…oops! did i just say that out loud?! ugh! :) there’s no balance…once a person acts in a certain way, they are labeled…i recently experienced this personally…i said something, and the individual immediately threw a label at me…people are just labeled for their actions/thoughts and compartmentalized…maybe that is human nature. i try so hard to stay away from labels, and not use them…but alas…i am the same as everyone else…i use labels too. :) i am the “anti-label” label! :) knowledge limits imagination. :) i keep reminding myself of this, since i don’t want to become a “label” or “saying”...i just thought of a haiku:
Labels ever more
Human behavior patterns
Wipe knowledge limits
ah! the great haiku pattern! :) ah, patterns, yes! patterns bring me comfort! :)
