Oooh, Government That Works!

Despite all the heartache from the Obama administration getting kinda centrist sometimes, it's still a thrill to have a government full of people who are actually good at their jobs. No more lobbyists heading FEMA. No more lobbyists having veto power over the reports put out by the EPA.

Here's one such example of bureaucrats knowing how to make workable solutions, from DC.streetsblog.org: 

Now the White House is getting in on the action, with $400 million included in its fiscal year 2011 budget to support development of new food outlets in urban communities where the nearest grocery store is often a half-mile or more away -- the neighborhoods that policymakers call "food deserts."
