Rosie Lives!

by Donna Schoenkopf

Today I looked up and out my sliding glass door and there was Rosie! Skinny, bedraggled, eyes like saucers. It has been three weeks since last I saw her. I cannot believe she's alive. I'm overcome with relief and happiness.

She has yet to come in (always skittish and now downright spooked) so I slid a bowl of her favorite food out the door. She gobbled it down. When I'd make a move to pet her or hold her, she'd bolt. (But then, she's had those tendencies anyway.)

So I've left the door open a bit, snakes be damned, and am waiting for her little body to come home. Diego the Dog won't make it easier for her, but eventually she'll make it.

I wonder what happened ... where she went, how and what she ate.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Rosie!!

Wellllllllllll, how nice!!!! Welcome back into the fold, Rosie! And do tell us all about your adventures. Oops, I forget—cats can’t talk. Oh well, what they lack in that area, they make up for in others.

So happy for you, Donna!! Now you know why they say cats have nine lives.

Our house cat, Gidget just left us two gifts, a rat and a gopher. Love those cats.

Darlene, that’s an honor, you know. They don’t see humans as being very good hunters, so they try to supplement our diet with what they catch.

Was sooooooo excited for you about Rosie coming home.  My heart bled, as I know how I feel about our cats.  Way too many tears over missing ones!

Hug her for me if you get to hold her again.

Keep the stories coming.  I love them.
