Spinach Power

by Donna Schoenkopf

I love Dwell magazine. My dear and darling friend Judy gave me a subscription a few years back and for a solid year I read and looked at stunning articles and pictures about the cutting edge of architecture, design, environmental ideas and beauty.

In that year I ran across the most intriguing idea of all, in my humble opinion, about sustainable energy. It has to do with using Green Power, or in this case, spinach. Imagine a house clad with photovoltaic cells which use spinach to power it. MIT came up with the idea and so far it's proving to be something that looks extremely promising.

I love this stuff. Go here for a good look and good read on one of the most unusual ideas out there for a sustainable energy system for your home.
