The Gold Line Sneaks Eastward

by Nathan Walpow

The lead article in today's L.A.Times California section (still known in my household as the Metro) is about the Gold Line extension into the Eastside. In the paper it's entitled "The fast track to change," while on the Times website it's called "Gold Line extension to L.A. Eastside stirs hopes, fears." (Why do they do that? Is it simply because there's more space on the site, so they feel compelled to be more verbose?)

The piece includes a brief history of Boyle Heights and environs and is well worth reading. So go read it.
