Washburn to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award ... No, Seriously

by Nathan Walpow

We don't like to blow our own horn (oh, come on, we love to blow our own horn), but when one of us does good we like to point it out. Jim Washburn, writer of Lost in OC and author of The Homeless Ventriloquist, will receive ... but here, let me quote the OC Music Awards press release:

In 2010 a highly respected rock ‘n’ roll expert and long time member of the press will be honored. Jim Washburn has been writing music criticism and review since his start with the Orange County Register in 1983 and is today considered the go-to musical historian of our county. Jim’s impeccable knowledge of Orange County’s rooted music scene and his endearing first hand experiences in creating the legacy are voiced in pen like no other.

Yay, Jim!

It’s in the press release. It’s on their website. Now the whole world will know. Or are you saying it was supposed to be a secret that florence is proud of him?
