Why Ellen DeGeneres is Like Son of Sam

by Nathan Walpow

From Salon.com:

The release notes that, on April 4, the New York Times ran two adjacent front-page articles: one on the Iowa Supreme Court decision to legalize same-sex marriage, and one on the gunman who murdered 13 people in Binghamton, New York. So you get it, right? The stories were on the same page! It’s irrefutable proof of the link between homosexuality and insane, senseless murder!

But wait, there’s more. Apparently, according to Morality in Media president Robert Peters:

The underlying problem is that increasingly we live in a “post-Christian” society, where Judeo-Christian faith and values have less and less influence. Among other things, Judaism and Christianity taught that murder was wrong and that included murder motivated by anger, hatred and revenge. Both religions also taught that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves and to forgive others.

As opposed to Islam, and Buddhism, and Hinduism, which teach that murder is right, and that we are not to love our neighbor, nor to forgive him or her.

My favorite part of all this religious fanaticism: that the morality freaks always refer to the American “tradition” as Judeo-Christian, as if they wouldn’t be the first people to wipe Jews off the face of the earth if they got a chance. Because they killed Jesus, dontcha know.

(Full disclosure: I am a Jew. At least officially.)
